About
We are a garage start-up national charity that has a few co-founders and many followers. We can trace our micro-philanthropic origins to a small town called Charlottesville in Virginia where an idea was born between three friends:
Raise small amounts of money doing something you love.
But we needed legitimacy, we needed rules, we needed acceptance, we needed permission, we needed none of these things… we just needed COURAGE to build a community.
We realized we needed to do something vs. doing nothing…
…and the micro-philanthropic movement began.
The micro-philanthropic movement fractured into various communities and many people went on to do many extraordinary things over the next 15 years. Though meaningful relationships and small sums of money - and time - these contributions and commitments are adding up to huge sums of money and gives the money power to impact society through these tiny acts of collective philanthropy.
Then, tragedy kept striking.
Some of our friends were getting diagnosed and some died of cancer.
We resurrected one of the fractured ideas in Richmond, Charlottesville, Atlanta, and many other cities:
If you don’t like cancer and/or you love Texas Hold’em Poker,
We are your community.
A. I. A. C. = All In Against Cancer,
and it is our attempt at doing something.
We are seeking poker players and home game host volunteers who care (in addition to philanthropic investors and financial supporters) who want us to achieve the unthinkable - small sums adding up to a large number and tremendous, perpetual impact to fight cancer. here in the Commonwealth and beyond.
